Pwllheli RNLI lifeboat crew were called out on service three times over the weekend.
Pwllheli RNLI lifeboat first launched soon after 10pm on Saturday evening after a report that a distress signal had been sighted in Tremadog bay. A search was carried out between Pwllheli harbour entrance and Shell Island but nothing was found and the search was called off.
At 12.15 on Sunday the lifeboat was launched to assist a 30ft yacht which was having problems with its keel centreboard. The Pwllheli RNLI lifeboat took over the tow from Criccieth inshore lifeboat at Penychain and towed it into Pwllheli marina. The Criccieth RNLI lifeboat had towed the sailing vessel, which had one person on board from Shell Island.
Pwllheli volunteer lifeboat crew were called out again soon before 3pm on Sunday to assist a 25ft speed boat which had suffered engine failure. The tow was taken over from the Abersoch inshore lifeboat in St Tudwal’s Roads and the vessel was towed to Pwllheli marina.
