Temporary toilets at the site of the Quadrant bus station redevelopment are being relocated while progress at the site continues.
Passers-by will have already noticed giant concrete structures being erected at the busy site that will help form part of the multi million pound structure.
The relocation of the toilet facilities will help the Council contractors access more parts of the site. This means that during the next few weeks, the existing toilets currently located opposite the city centre tourist information office, will be moved to Garden Street, located between Tesco and Debenhams.
John Hague, Cabinet Member for the Environment, said, “While progress is made on site, we need to ensure services such as toilet provision for the public are not disrupted
“It’s important that we do what we can to try and minimise any disruption associated with the Quadrant redevelopment.
The £10m Quadrant Bus Station project has received significant funding from the Welsh Assembly Government and the Wales European Funding Office.
The completed redevelopment will include public toilets and one of only seven state-of-the-art Changing Places toilets for use by people with multiple or profound disabilities.
Cllr Hague added, “The new bus station will provide a real boost to public transport services in the city. The addition of the Changing Places facility will ensure that it is accessible to everyone.”
