People interested in standing at next year’s Bridgend County Borough Council elections have just a few days left to register for free information sessions.
As part of Local Democracy Week, BCBC is holding a special event for people who are interested in becoming a county borough councillor.
The sessions take place during the evenings of Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 October at the Civic Offices in Angel Street, Bridgend. Spaces are free but limited, so any one interested in asked to reserve a place by Monday 26 September.
Whether you are curious about what kinds of duty a councillor performs or are already planning to stand at the next election as an individual member or representative of a political party, the Potential Candidate event will tell you everything you need to know about the role of a county borough councillor, how the council works and how to take part in an election.
The event will also provide an opportunity to meet with and speak to experienced councillors and council officers, and all attendees will receive a special information pack to take away.
