Gwent Police is re-appealing for information to help locate Gemma Garn who has now been missing for a month. The re-appeal is made after an eye witness has come forward with new information.
The witness, who was a commuter travelling across the Second Severn Bridge, has come forward to say that he saw a lone person generally fitting Gemma’s build, although the witness can’t say whether it was a man or a woman, making their way towards the barrier at approximatley 6.45am on the morning Gemma was reported missing (Saturday December 19th). Police are confident that Gemma’s hire vehicle, a black Kia Rio 5-door saloon, arrived at the location at approximatley 5.50am that morning.
Detective Chief Inspector Pete Jones said:
“Police are appealing for any other early morning commuters, travelling along the Severn Bridge in the early hours of the morning, to come forward as they may well have seen something significant without realising it. Potential witnesses shouldn’t feel that its too late to come forward: we and Gemma’s family are desperately trying to piece together Gemma’s actions that night and any information would be valuable to the investigation.”
Gemma, aged 26 from St Dials, Cwmbrân, was last seen out with friends in the early hours of Saturday morning, 19th December, in the Pontnewydd area.
Gemma is described as white and approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall. She has short dark hair with blonde highlights, blue/green eyes and a fair complexion. She was last known to be wearing a black polo neck top underneath a black and white patterned dress, a brown casual jacket, black tights and black high heeled shoes.
If anyone saw the vehicle Gemma is believed to have been travelling in or if anyone thinks that they may hold information that could help locate Gemma they are asked to contact Gwent Police on 101.
