Dyfed-Powys Police is renewing its appeal for witnesses and information following the serious sexual assault on a 16 year-old female in the early hours of New Years Day in Llandrindod Wells.
The victim was assaulted as she walked from The Venue Nightclub, which is on Spa Road, to a friends address in the town.
T/Detective Chief Inspector Shane Williams said: “I appeal for anyone who saw the female walking along the route to come forward as they may have vital information, which could assist the investigation.
“The victim was wearing a black dress. As she left the nightclub, she walked down past the hospital on Temple Street, via the level crossing before making her way towards Hillcrest Avenue, which was close to the scene of the assault. We are keen to speak to anybody who was out in the town during the evening who may have seen the victim or the male fitting the suspect profile.”
Dyfed-Powys Police would also like to trace the victim’s phone (Samsung model on T-Mobile), which is still unaccounted for and may be in the area near Crabtree Green or Hillcrest Drive.
The victim is currently receiving specialist support from trained officers.
Police particularly want to trace a male, white, 5’9-5’10’, in his 20’s with a square jaw-line and an English accent.
In addition, if you saw a man and a woman matching this description between 3:00 and 4:00 am on 1 January 2011, please call Dyfed-Powys Police on 101, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555111.
Dyfed-Powys Police would like to reassure the local community that these offences are extremely rare and the county remains one of the safest places to live in England and Wales.
