Essential road maintenance work is being carried out this week in Neath.
The resurfacing of Windsor Road will take place over night on Wednesday and Thursday to minimise disruption.
Neath Port Talbot Council made a commitment to resurface the main link road to Neath Town Centre repair damage caused by two severe winters and wear tear from the volume of traffic using the road.
Head of streetcare services Mike Roberts said the works are essential to maintain this important link to the town centre.
He said: “As part of the council’s ongoing 3-year Urban Streets Initiative, it was determined that in order to provide a long term solution to the wear and tear of this busy road, full resurfacing would take place.
“The work forms part of a larger resurfacing programme for Neath Town Centre.”
Contractors Hanson will close the road from 10pm Wednesday, February 16, and re-open at 6am until 10pm on Thursday, February 17, albeit on a temporary road surface.
The road will re-close at 10pm on Thursday, February 17, and open as normal at 6am on Friday.
Vehicles over 7.5tonnes are asked to use the A474 (Neath Abbey Road) and B4434 as an alternative to their normal route.
