As part of Flintshire Business Week 2009, two free evening workshops are being hosted by Flintshire County Council for independent retailers in the county.
Following on from the successful Shop Doctor retailer workshops held earlier this year, popular retail expert Bill Smith will be undertaking two further interactive workshops on Tuesday, 6 October and Thursday, 15 October.
On 6 October from 6pm – 8pm, at The Academy in Buckley, Bill will provide a Visual Merchandising extravaganza covering three key areas: ‘I never knew you sold that’, ‘Making more of your Floor’ and ‘Don’t forget the batteries’.
On 15 October also from 6pm – 8pm, at The Gateway to Wales in Deeside, Bill will provide a session on effective marketing and promotional activities for both the individual trader and showing the power of a joined up traders campaign to improve town vibrancy.
Here is feedback from some of the independent retailers, from across the county, who attended the shop doctor workshops held in March this year:
‘I found it useful in a number of ways – learning new information and being reminded of things I’d forgotten. It’s always good to have a refresher’;
‘The whole programme was very useful and interesting – it was spot on for me. A very useful part of the course was hearing from and discussing with other delegates about their thoughts and ideas and it made me realise I wasn’t so far off – I felt very reassured’;
‘It was so good to talk with people who weren’t trying to sell you something. They were there to give you advice, not make a sale and we really appreciated that.’
Any independent retailer in the county is welcome to attend one or both of these free workshops being held in October and bookings can be made via:
Clare Madders, Regeneration Project Officer, on 01352 703225 or email [email protected] ; or via Ashley Zepeda, Flintshire Business Week Co-ordinator on 01352 703219 or E: [email protected].
Early booking is advised.
