One of the rising stars at The Ashburnham Golf Club in Pembrey will be representing Wales in Italy later this summer.
Nia Greville has been chosen to join the Welsh Girls Under-18 team taking part in the European Girls Championships in Sardinia in Italy in July.
Nia’s place in the Wales team follows her recent victory in the Welsh Girls Under-16 Championship at the Royal St David’s Golf Club in Harlech.
“That was an outstanding win and thoroughly deserved,” said Ashburnham club secretary Huw Morgan.
“We are very proud of our junior golfers here at The Ashburnham and we are working very hard to encourage the next generation of golfers.
“All of us here at the club are very proud of Nia’s recent win in Harlech and we wish all the very best on her trip to Sardinia.”
Nia comes from one of Llanelli’s most famous sporting families. Her father, Simon Greville, played for Llanelli Scarlets, and her grandfather is Handel Greville, a Welsh rugby international and a Scarlets legend who was once chairman and president of the club.
