Liverpool Coastguard requested the assistance of Flint RNLI lifeboat as a safety presence for groups of people on the River bank, who were reported to be assisting with the search for a missing North Wales man.
The lifeboat launched at 1.30pm, and spent 90 minutes afloat, whilst returning to Connahs Quay to recover, the lifeboat crew were tasked to remove a dead cow from the river.
Alan Forrester, Flint RNLI volunteer lifeboat operations manager, said I have been involved in varied incidents over the years, but cannot remember one involving a dead cow before.
