A kayaker, whose craft became stranded on a mud bank in the upper reaches of the Milford Haven Waterway, was rescued by RNLI Angle’s inshore lifeboat on Wednesday (17 August).
The lifeboat, crewed by RNLI volunteers Mark Roch and Jo Lynas, was launched at 12.35pm at the request of Milford Haven Coastguard and located the kayaker at Landshipping.
Mark Roch got out of the lifeboat and, with the assistance of a local man who was already on the scene, the kayak was pushed off the mud bank and back into the river.
So far this year, Angle’s all-weather and inshore lifeboats have been launched on service 37 times – 19 of which were inshore lifeboat call-outs.
