Yesterday morning (Sunday 16 January) at approximately 10.30 Horton & Port Eynon RNLI inshore lifeboat on exercise in Port Eynon bay when her volunteer crew noticed a windsurfer in trouble between Horton and Slade on the Gower.
The windsurfer, who was waving for help, was being pushed by the very strong south-westerly wind towards the shore. Fortunately the lifeboat managed to get there before the windsurfer was dashed onto the rocks.
The lifeboat returned to shore with the windsurfer, who required no medical attention.
