Road bridge plans to go on display

Plans to improve a road bridge in West Rhyl are to go on public display.

Denbighshire County Council has organised a drop-in information and feedback session about the proposals for the H Bridge off Marsh Road to take place at the Wellington Road Community Centre, Rhyl on Wednesday, 7 March from 12pm until 7pm.

People can come and see the proposals and discuss them directly with Council officers.

The proposals have been developed to address long standing concerns about pedestrian and cycle safety on the bridge, particularly on and around the bridge deck, with feedback received from Sustrans and other community groups.

An on-going programme of bridge assessments carried out by Network Rail has also indicated that the current bridge deck may not be suitable for vehicles over a given weight.

Proposals include widened footways on the approaches to the bridge, traffic signals on the bridge deck and a one-way system on three of the approaches to the bridge. Traffic calming measures are also proposed on Garnett Avenue and Ellis Avenue.

Further information can be requested by writing to Ben Wilcox Jones, Denbighshire County Council, Caledfryn Offices, Smithfield Road, Denbigh, LL16 3RJ.
