The road between Llangoed and Beaumaris will remain closed for approximately five hours following a collision involving an oxygen tanker.
No-one was injured during the collision and the incident possesses no danger to local residents.
The road has been closed as a precaution, pending the transfer of the liquid oxygen to another vehicle.
Officers are currently issuing reassurance messages to houses in the area.
