Aled Roberts, Assembly Member for North Wales, has welcomed the news that the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Danny Alexander MP has signed an agreement with Hitachi and Horizon to support the financing of the development of Wylfa’s new nuclear power station.

“Today’s announcement by Lib Dem Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander is excellent news for north Wales. This good news follows the commitment to build the super prison and to roll out superfast broad to help businesses in north Wales.
“The coalition government is committed to bringing investment to the United Kingdom and I am delighted that Wylfa B is clearly a big part of their plans.
“Thousands of jobs on the island are reliant on the future of this plant and it is welcome that the Coalition Government recognise the importance of this. The Welsh Government now needs to work with the Coalition Government to ensure that local businesses across north Wales are also able to benefit for this significant investment.”
