Division Two West outfit Aberystwyth needed extra time to beat a spirited Llandeilo in the SWALEC Bowl second round. Fly-half Carwyn ap Murddyn delivered a match-winning performance for Aberystwyth, scoring all of his sides points as they squeezed home, 20-17
Division Four West table-toppers Milford Haven continued their good form, sealing a place in the next round by thumping Betws. Two tries apiece for flanker Gareth Fawcett and hooker Craig Smith saw them to a 43-25 win.
Senghenydd, of Division Five South East, sprung a surprise against Division Four Cardiff HSOB. Scrum-Half Alun Ford led the way, scoring 18 points, including two tries, as Senghenydd ran out winners, 43-7.
Cousins Nicky and Chris Stevens starred for Division Four East Abertillery BG as they hammered Aberbeeg. Both scored two tries and fly-half Chris added six conversions, while there was also a brace for flanker Greg Lane as the hosts ran out winners, 52-12.
Wing David Smith scored a hattrick as Division Five East side Oakdale recorded a fine 18-11 win over Division Four Crumlin.
Risca wing Luke Savigar-Jones ran in four tries as the Division Four South East side beat Blaina United 100-0.
Division Four East outfit Old Illtydians crashed out at the hands of Division Six Central Llanrumney. Lock Gareth Collier and wing Kieron Ford both scored twice to see Llanrumney to victory, 40-28.
Porth hung on for a nervy win against their Division Four South East rivals Pontyclun. Tries from wings Callum Rowe and Anthony James sealed an 18-17 victory.
Cymtwrch, Ynysddu, Taffs Well and Barry are among the other sides progressing to round three.
BP Llandarcy might be flying high in Division Two West, but they needed a slice of luck – and extra time – to get past Division Three South West side Seven Sisters in the SWALEC Plate first round. With the sides level at 3-3 after 80 minutes, the visitors needed a late try from Darren Fender to avoid embarrassment, holding out for an 8-3 win.
There was an upset at Division Two East Abercynon, where the hosts crashed out to Hoel y Cyw, who had tries from Ashley Dominick and centres Ben Thomas and Chris Howe to thank for their 26-25 win.
Abergavenny are also through after beating their Division Three East rivals Pontypool United. Tries from no 8 James Williams and wings John Hitchinson and Ian Davies saw them to a 31-20 triumph.
The other sides safely through to the next round include Gardiffaith, Tylorstown, Mold and Penallta.
