“Fore” Welsh international rugby heroes will be making an exclusive guest appearance at the Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament next month.
There is still time to secure your entry in the event, which always offers a great day out and is in aid of good causes that help the people of Rhondda Cynon Taf and beyond.
Mayor Cllr Simon Lloyd is also delighted to confirm today that stars Ryan Jones, Sam Warburton, Matthew Rees and Morgan Stoddard will join him at the event at Aberdare Golf Course on Friday April 15.
The securing of the sports men is a huge coup for the Mayor, and he is grateful to them for offering him their support and providing a boost to the event.
The players will be at the event on the day and will also provide photographs and autographs – but only for registered competitors.
Mayor Cllr Simon Lloyd is inviting golfers to join him from 11.30am on April 15, for a day that includes:
- Pairs competition – best Stableford score to count
- Refreshments at the halfway house
- Two-course meal after completing the first round of golf
- Prizes for first, second and third pairs
- Additional spot prizes for the longest drive and nearest to the pin
- Presentation of awards at 6.30pm – formal dress only.
The cost of the day is £80 per pair and includes all of the above, with all proceeds going to Cllr Lloyd’s chosen charities.
“The annual golf tournament is always good fun for all involved and this year it will be even more exciting thanks to the guest appearances from the Welsh internationals. Everyone enjoys a great competition amid stunning surroundings, with the chance to win prizes,” said Cllr Lloyd.
“Most importantly, this popular event helps raise funds for some very worthy causes this year – Marie Curie Cancer Care, the Christian Lewis Trust, the Rowan Tree Foundation (formerly Cancer Support Cynon Valley), and the Pontypridd War Memorial Appeal.”
