If you would like your church to host a fundraising concert in spring 2011 by a Russian orthodox choir from St Petersburg, please contact Music in Local Churches, or read the on-line leaflet:
http://hermitage.seenworks.com/hermitage_2011uk.pdf.
The Hermitage Ensemble will be on a singing tour of churches next spring and still have several free dates. Whilst they normally give concerts in large churches, they particularly love to sing in our smallest, intimate, atmospheric churches. So even if your church could seat only a small audience, please get in touch. The ensemble’s fee is negotiable according to the size of your church and the number of people who attend the concert.
The Hermitage Ensemble is a professional choir of six male singers, including a countertenor and two of the richest bass voices for which Russian sacred music is justly famous. As you will see from their biographies in the on-line leaflet, when they are not touring abroad the singers perform in St Petersburg’s finest churches and top concert venues.
If you would like to listen to excerpts from their concerts please go to their website: http://hermitage.seenworks.com.
If you would like to contact the hermitage ensemble direct, please contact Natalia Aksuticheva in St Petersburg, by emailing: [email protected]. If you would like a recommendation from a person here in Britain who has organised three Hermitage Ensemble concerts for his local church, please contact Peter Lewis: 01823 451162 (Broomfield Parish Church, Quantock Hills, West Somerset).
