Montgomeryshire ‘s Conservative Assembly candidate, Russell George has welcomed the news that the Conservative Party’s UK Spring Forum will be held in Wales, at Cardiff this March. Commenting on the decision, Russell George said;
“Wales needs change in 2011. Successive Welsh Assembly Governments have not worked well for Wales in general, and Montgomeryshire in particular. My hope is that 2011 will bring the change that the people of Montgomeryshire need.”
“David Cameron demonstrated his support for us in Montgomeryshire in 2010 by visiting my home town of Newtown, and we have responded through delivering electoral success, and through commitment to supporting the Coalition which has brought stable government to the UK. The Prime Minister has continued to show a great personal commitment to Wales while in office at No 10”
“Bringing the UK party’s Spring Conference to Wales just weeks before the Assembly elections shows just how seriously our party is taking the Assembly elections on May 5th.”
“I look forward to attending the Spring Conference and playing a part in showcasing our key policies of protecting the NHS budget, cutting business rates for small enterprises, and holding the Welsh Assembly Government to account on it’s lack of support for Mid Wales”
