To celebrate the Ryder Cup coming to Wales for the first time this October, Cardiff Park Services have created a special golf themed 3D bedding display at Roath Park.
The 120 square metre display has been designed and plants grown by the councils parks services team.
The project supports the high standard of work under taken at the park which has recently been recognised by the prestigious Green Flag Award.
The flower bed is made up of blue petunias to represent a stream and lake, yellow marigolds to represent the bunkers, white begonias to make up the golf ball and wildflower turf and a mixture of ornamental grasses to depict the rough.
The framework 3d design has been generously donated by ARC Services.
Executive Member for Sport, Culture and Leisure, Cllr Nigel Howells, said:
“The garden is a fantastic example of how thrilled and excited we are to be welcoming the Ryder Cup to Wales.
“Cardiff will receive a great boost from Newport hosting the tournament, with the tourism sector in particular benefiting from the thousands of people who will visit the south east of Wales to watch the Ryder Cup.
“The garden is our way of celebrating this world class sporting occasion and opens the event up to the people of Cardiff.”
The garden can be found on Roath Park promenade and is open to the public from now until the middle of October.
