The S4C Authority has decided to postpone its appointment of a permanent Chief Executive until a new Chair for the Authority is appointed by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
Meanwhile, Arwel Ellis Owen will continue as Chief Executive, a post he has held on an interim basis since last July.
The Chair of the Authority, John Walter Jones announced his retirement from the post today (7 December). In these circumstances, the Authority has concluded that it would not be appropriate to appoint a permanent Chief Executive at this point.
A spokesman for the S4C Authority said, “The relationship between the Chair, Authority and Chief Executive is a vital relationship, and we feel that it would not be appropriate to continue the search for a Chief Executive until the Authority has a new Chair.”
