S4C has established a voluntary redundancy scheme for staff in the wake of the budget cuts imposed on the Channel. Details of the scheme were presented to staff at a meeting with S4C Chief Executive, Arwel Ellis Owen today (Thursday 12 May).
A 24% cut over four years in S4C’s budget was announced as part of the Westminster Government’s Comprehensive Spending Review last October.
In addition to inviting applications for voluntary redundancy, S4C announced its willingness to consider applications from staff wishing to reduce their work hours or wishing to job share.
