Commenting on the Labour Government’s update on Working Smarter – and the Minister’s decision to ‘agree in principle to changes to the 6-day standstill rule as recommended by the 6-day standstill Task and Finish Group’ – Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs Antoinette Sandbach AM, said:
“Simplifying the current system and getting rid of the unwanted red tape that continues to hamper farmers is absolutely paramount.
“For too long our farming communities have been waiting for action and support – not more words and empty promises.
“Any progress on unwanted bureaucracy is extremely welcome and it now crucial that cost assessments take place immediately and changes are introduced as soon as possible.”
