Preparations for Santa’s return to Wrexham have begun in earnest, with the arrival of his grotto on Queens Square.
Staff from Paveaways, this year’s sponsor of the grotto, are busy creating the wonderland residence, which will be decorated over the coming days in preparation for the arrival of the man himself next week.
He will arrive in Wrexham, accompanied by his snow dogs on Thursday 2 December. At 5.45pm he’ll begin his journey to the grotto, taking in High Street, Hope Street, Regent Street, Duke Street and Lord Street. He will arrive at Queens Square at 6pm, laden with presents for the boys and girls who visit the grotto. The Christmas train will follow his journey around town.
The evening promises fun for all, with children’s rides, music, visits from local pantomime characters and rides on the Christmas train. Also opening Thursday 2 December, and staying open until Sunday 4 December, is the Christmas Village in Queens Square, selling a lovely mix of gifts, crafts and food.
The grotto will open its doors for children to visit Father Christmas from 6.15pm to 8pm on Thursday 2 December, and will remain open every day until Christmas Eve, when it will close at 12 noon.
