The Scarlets under 18s applied further pressure to the Blues at the top of the WRU Age Grade Championship with a bonus point victory over Gogledd Cymru in Colwyn Bay.
Two penalties from Gogledd scrum half Alex Schwarz kept the home side in touch on a day when they produced their most complete performance in two seasons.
Heavy defeats at the hands of the Scarlets on the opening day of the season and the Blues and Dragons in recent weeks, left the North Walians without a point to show for their efforts.
However, despite failing in their bid to break their duck for the season, their performance was far improved against a Scarlets’ side who turned around an early 3-0 deficit to win the game 22-6.
Aled Davies, Rheon James, Kirby Myhill and Llyr Morris crossed the whitewash for the visitors with James Morris adding a conversion for good measure.
Gogledd Cymru team manager Will Morecombe said; “Before the game and having lost every one of our games since entering the competition, the coaches said to the players to forget the result and concentrate on the performance.
“We did that and to be honest although we lost, I think it was a significant step in the right direction.”
