Flintshire County Council has now received approval from Welsh Government to provide 20mph speed limits outside every school in the County and the work to erect the appropriate signage will commence in the next few days.
All of the sites will be completed before the schools reopen after the summer holiday.
Deputy Leader of Flintshire County Council, Councillor Bernie Attridge said:
“I am pleased to announce that following approval from Welsh Government, work can now commence on the installation of the 20mph signs.
“Delivering 20mph zones outside of the County’s schools has been a priority for this administration and once installed the new arrangements will help improve road safety by making drivers more aware of the school location which will help ensure they reduce their speed accordingly. Clearly speed is a key factor in road safety and this is a major step forward in protecting the safety of our children.”
