The Pontypridd squad has been boosted by the addition of former Wales under 20 scrum half Gareth Williams.
Although only 23 years of age, Gareth has already acquired a significant amount of experience, adding to his international honours by playing at club and regional level in Wales and spending a season in the English Premiership.
The Hirwaun product – brother of Blues and Pontypridd hooker Rhys Williams – came up through the Blues Academy in 2006, and was given a placement with Glamorgan Wanderers, in the meantime gaining international caps for Wales at under 19 and under 20 level.
A move to the Ospreys Academy, whilst also representing Neath RFC, was followed in 2008 by a transfer to the Harlequins club in the English Premiership, underlining the young scrum half’s status as a recognised player of potential.
The following season Gareth returned to Wales, again maintaining his regional status with the Gwent Dragons, and turning out for Bedwas in the Premiership.
Gareth Williams will now become a Pontypridd player, joining up in preparation for the 2011 – 2012 campaign and providing a proven option for the scrum half position as the club seeks to continue its push for honours.
