Volunteers from the Sealand Youth Club rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in to picking up litter around the Youth Centre recently.
In support of the Tidy Towns Project, which is managed by Keep Wales Tidy and funded by the Welsh Government, youth club members gave up their free time to organise a litter pick of the youth centre grounds, the park at the rear of the club and the area around Orchard Way. The group collected seven bags of litter, which was mostly cans and plastic bottles and sweet wrappers.
Youth Worker, Helen Evans said, “The young people who come to our Youth Club are keen to show that they are responsible and that they do care about the area. The group worked well in cleaning up the area.”
Project Worker, Judith Wright added, “Tidy Towns is a great way to bring local people together to improve the environment they live in. The volunteers from Sealand Youth Club set an excellent example to their community and I hope that even more members will join them on their next project.”
