Search is on to find city centre developer

Newport City Council yesterday officially launched its search to find a developer for the proposed city centre scheme.

Advertisements are running in specialist journals and more information can also be found on the council website (see below).

The council is inviting interest from major developers for the new multi-million scheme who will have to meet its high specifications for this important project.

Councillor Matthew Evans, leader of Newport City Council, said: “We are confident that we will find a partner who will help us deliver a first class scheme that will revitalise the city centre.

“I am delighted that we can now progress with the scheme following a delay due to circumstances beyond our control and have reached this important stage. We expect to be able to draw up a short-list of potential developers early next year.”
