Swansea Council is helping its residents have a greener Christmas this year by offering a quick and simple alternative to sending a festive message by post.
With around a billion festive cards set to be sent this Christmas, the Local Authority has come up with a more environmentally-friendly solution by providing an e-Card system on its website.
Visit www.swansea.gov.uk/ecards and choose one of eight designs which include snowy scenes of Swansea Castle and Mumbles Head as well as a traditional nativity scene and Santa with Rudolph.
All you need to do is type in your message, add the e-mail addresses of your friends and relatives and click on send. The e-mail addresses won’t be stored so there’s no catch.
Resident Lisa Evans is happy to have an alternative to paper cards this Christmas. She said: “It always seems a waste to send so many cards when they end up being recycled so I think I’ll send e-Cards to my friends from now on. It’s a great idea.”
