Following a fire during the evening of 4th November serious damage has been caused to the former Govilon Primary School.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire which was brought under control by the fire brigade. Initially some near neighbours were moved from their homes, but all returned after the fire was put out.
Govilon Primary School closed on 31st August of this year. The site was secured through locked gates with the building locked and boarded up pending a decision on the future use of the site.
The police are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
