Serious Injury, Road Traffic Collision – Cardiff

South Wales PoliceSouth Wales Police is appealing for witnesses, to a serious road traffic collision, which occurred on Mill Road, Ely, Cardiff,  approximately 12:35pm on Saturday the 22nd of February 2014.

A yellow Iveco recovery vehicle was in collision with an elderly male pedestrian.

The pedestrian sustained multiple injuries, and is currently in a serious condition at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

South Wales Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.  The police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who stopped at the scene, following the collision, to render assistance to any of the parties involved.  Police would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the movements of the pedestrian or the vehicle prior to the collision, and have yet to provide their details.

The road was closed for approximately five hours, to allow initial investigation work to be carried out.  South Wales Police would like to thank the local community for their patience and cooperation while the road was closed.
