Extreme conditions on Friday afternoon and evening were particularly difficult and it was a struggle to keep the First Priority routes open.
On Friday, we activated the 4×4 Response Wales Arrangements and Red Cross volunteers were providing support to social services.
Gritting crews were out throughout the weekend treating the network and continue to work around the clock.
Today (20/12/10) all primary routes are open, and they have approximately 5,000 tonnes of salt in stock across all our depots.
The weather continues to be exceptionally severe.
Some parks, cleansing and bin collection work has been suspended, and these teams have been redeployed to help treat secondary routes and some footpaths with a mixture of chippings and salt.
The public are advised to note the conditions and take extra care.
