Shadow Health Minister Darren Millar is backing a new recycling initiative which hopes to reduce the environmental impact of inhalers.
Inhalers are usually sent to landfill, after use, which is bad for the environment and incredibly wasteful.
Following a successful trial, people in Wales suffering from respiratory illnesses will be the first in Europe to recycle their inhalers.
Speaking at the launch Darren said:
“I am proud to see an innovative scheme launching in Wales.
“Community pharmacies already play a central role in the health services across Wales but the scheme will further increase their place in our communities.
“‘Complete the Cycle’ will also provide huge environmental benefits. Hopefully over 69,000 inhalers will be saved from landfill in one year alone.”
