Shadow Rural Affairs Minister Russell George AM enjoyed a taste of Denbighshire when he joined Clwyd West AM Darren Millar on a whistle stop tour of the county on Friday.
The two Assembly Members visited Ruthin Farmers’ Market and met with auctioneer Glyn Owens before calling to Plas yn Rhal Farm for a farm visit and Llysfasi College to meet with Coleg Cambria Principal, David Jones.
Darren said:
“It was great to be able to welcome the Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs to Denbighshire and to show him all it has to offer.
“I know all those who met him were grateful of the opportunity to discuss issues affecting the farming community here in North Wales.”
Russell George AM said:
“This was a timely visit given recent falls in prices for Welsh lamb, which is concerning on the back of the slump in Welsh beef prices. I was pleased to meet with local farmers to discuss this issue and other concerns.
“I was hugely impressed with Coleg Llysfasi, it is a jewel in Denbighshire’s rural crown and I look forward to engaging with the college further in the future.”
