Commenting on the decision to bring an Ashes Test Match to the Swalec Stadium in Cardiff in 2015, Shadow Minister for Sport Mohammad Asghar AM said:
“This is very welcome news and gives the capital city of Wales another chance to showcase itself to a global audience.
“It is now essential that the Welsh Government is proactive and offers all necessary support to ensure the nation seizes the benefits of hosting this five-day sporting event.
“The Ashes Test provides Cardiff and South Wales big opportunities for tourism, business and enterprise – and the Welsh Government must work hard to embrace this potential”.
