Popular open air Theatre Company Illyria return to The Welsh Wildlife Centre in Cilgerran on Friday, August 8 at 7.30pm to perform a passionate, poetic and utterly gripping adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Illyria’s performance of the legendary play has seen them achieve Critic’s Choice at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 5 star reviews in Canada and a nomination for Best of Fringe in Vancouver.
Under the artistic directorship of Oliver Gray, Illyria have impressed audiences all over Britain, Netherlands, Germany, the United States and Canada for the past 14 years. The company is renowned for its inventive approach to Shakespeare’s plays and price themselves on first-rate shows for families.
The play will be presented on a site near to the Wildlife Centre building with a stunning view of the Teifi Marshes; the building offers meals and refreshments in the Glasshouse Café plus gift shop and toilet facilities. The Café will be open for meals prior to the show or why not bring a picnic along to enjoy on the performance site. The site is wheelchair accessible and free parking is available at the Wildlife Centre.
