Lovely Shelley Long has a smile to light up a room and she’s the winner of the Swansea’s Sunniest Smile competition run by the Quadrant Shopping Centre.
Shelley, 24, from Gorseinon, brightens the day for customers at the Officers Club store in the Quadrant where she is assistant manager.
The cheerful girl from Gorseinon received her prize from another beaming beauty, Miss Wales, Sara Manchipp who is no slouch in the smile stakes herself.
Shelley said: “I love it in the Quadrant Centre and I love working at Officers Club where we’ve got a lovely team.
“There is plenty to smile about here in Swansea. I love the people and the town, it’s got such a good atmosphere and there’s a great vibe about the place.
“We’ve some great stores here in the Quadrant and it’s always busy and bustling with lots of people coming here – it’s a real icon of the city.”
Miss Wales, Sara Manchipp, said: “It’s lovely to see someone with a radiant smile like Shelley. It’s so important to promote a positive, happy image for the city.
“Smiles make the world go round and we live in such a wonderful place so we’ve plenty of reasons to be cheerful.”
Ian Kirkpatrick, Manager of the Quadrant Centre, said: “The Sunniest Smile competition has been a huge success for us with a huge number of votes cast, over 900, and it’s created a lot of interest too.
“We’re delighted that one of our own has topped the poll and Shelley is a popular and worthy winner.
“She has a lovely, welcoming smile and it cheers you up just to see her here in the Quadrant.”
Shelley, who loves walking on Pembrey beach with her cocker spaniel Buster, added: “When you live here perhaps you can take it for granted but Swansea is a really nice place with gorgeous beaches on our doorstep.
“The competition certainly caused a lot of interest. I was in work and just thought why not and decided to enter but I was so surprised when I found I’d won.”
