Ships Ahoy! for Cardiff Tech Company GeoVS

GeoVS based at Cardiff Business Technology Centre, has launched its new ground-breaking charting technology, that will improve shipping traffic services for port authorities world wide.  

This ground-breaking technology has been developed with research at universities in Hong Kong, France and Wales and allows monitoring ship movements with a much improved efficiency, and significantly enhanced situational awareness for ship vessel traffic operators.  The C-Vu® 3D technology charts display land topography, multiple layers of chart data such as navigational symbols, dangers and port infrastructure, as well as ships moving in the monitored areas that is tailored for an easy interpretation.

Councillor Neil McEvoy, Deputy Leader of the council and Chair of Cardiff Business Technology Centre,  said  ”we are delighted to hear of the continued success of GeoVS Ltd based at the City’s Cardiff Business Technology Centre. The Centre continues to provide a supportive environment  to Research and Development based companies that help boost the City’s economy”.

GeoVS Director, Dr Rafal Goralski confirmed, ”we are pleased to announce the release of the first official version of the C-Vu® system, we would like to thank the Milford Haven Port Authority for supporting the development and trials of the system in their VTS Centre, as well as the UKHMA for providing us with this great opportunity for the product launch at the UKHMA (UK Harbour Masters Association) Autumn Seminar on the 2 November 2011 at the Victory Services Club in London .”
