Enjoy a magical mixture of storytelling, theatre and pantomime when Cat Weatherill tells the tale of ‘Sir Gawain and the Green Knight’ at council-run Berwyn Centre in Nantymoel on Saturday 18 December at 2pm.
Young Sir Gawain, a knight of the Round Table, accepts a challenge from the fearsome Green Knight. Soon he is riding north on a terrible quest. Cold, alone and far from home, with the snow falling like feathers around him, he suddenly sees a mysterious castle where his adventures begin. Cat Weatherill has captivated audiences across Europe with her glorious storytelling. Her playful re-telling of ‘Sir Gawain’ is a real midwinter treat, perfect to keep children captivated and occupied the weekend before Christmas.
Suitable for children aged eight and over, the show features a wonderful use of language, music, song and a real Green Knight six foot tall and as green as grass! His entry is totally unexpected, enormously exciting and completely unforgettable.
Organised by Bridgend County Borough Council’s Arts and Community Development and supported by Night Out – the community touring scheme for Wales, tickets are £4 / £3 concessions and are available by calling (01656) 840439.
