“This action is just part of what we do. Working with the council and other agencies we are also looking at reducing the demand for heroin in the county by education and treatment for existing users.
“Drugs can cause misery and we do not want to see heroin get a grip on our communities.
“I would ask if anyone has any information about drug dealing to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 – remember you do not have to give your name and may receive a reward.
” Anyone wanting help with a drug habit can contact the Wales Drug and Alcohol helpline on 0800 6 33 55 88.”
Pembrokeshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing and Sustainability, Councillor David Simpson, stressed that the authority was committed to working closely with Dyfed-Powys Police to deal with problems caused by drug abuse in properties owned by the council.
He warned: “If drugs are found stored at, or being dealt from, a Council property then appropriate action will be taken against the tenancy. This could include going to court to evict the tenant.”
