Skate park plan is on a roll

Land earmarked for development as a skate park is to be leased to Porthcawl Town Council.

BCBC Cabinet Members agreed that the 0.4 acre of ‘open space’ at Heol y Goedwig, which forms part of the Wilderness Lakes in Porthcawl, should be handed over to the town council for a period of up to 25 years.

The decision means the land remains as open space for the public and ensures greater protection over its use than if it was, for example, sold to the private sector for development. The freehold ownership of the land remains with BCBC providing greater security of the space.
