A new face will be seen patrolling the outlying villages surrounding Abergele.
From now on Special Constable Liam Gray will be joining his colleague PC Einion Huws on the beat in the villages of Betws-yn-Rhos, Llansannan, Bylchau, Henllan, Llanelian, Llanefydd and Llanfair Talhaiarn
Liam, 19, has served as a special constable for the past 12 months and despite working in Asda, Kinmel Bay, he manages to go on patrol for about 30 hours every week with North Wales Police.
Liam, from Rhyl, decided to join the specials as a means of getting on to a foundation degree course in police studies.
“Being a dedicated rural Special Constable is a new challenge for me. I hope it will enable me to develop my skills and give me the experience I need to fulfil my ultimate ambition to become a police officer.”
PC Huws, who has been a North Wales Police officer for the past 10 years, said: “It is a great assistance having Liam to help cover this massive patch. It means an extra face in the rural areas and it will enable me to do everything a community beat manager should be doing.”
