A Denbighshire walking scheme has praised six walkers for putting their best foot forward and completing 100 walks with the initiative.
Over 50 walkers from Rhyl, Dyserth and St Asaph got together at the North Wales Bowls Centre last night (Monday) to celebrate the achievement, arranged by the Lets Walk Denbighshire scheme.
Katrina Day, Lets Walk Denbighshire Co-ordinator said: “The six walkers: Alan Johnson, Elaine Gardner, Linda Mcshane, Jackie Tetlow, Jacqui Thomas and Agnes Watson have all walked more than 300 miles, burning off 27,000 calories. Another 20 miles and they would have walked the equivalent of the distance from Rhyl to Dover.
“These walks provide people with the chance to make new friends, improve their health and well-being and an opportunity to take in some of Denbighshire’s most breath-taking scenery”.
