St David’s inshore lifeboat launches on service

On Sunday September 25 at 1.00pm the St David’s RNLI inshore lifeboat launched on service to carry out a coastline search, for a possibility of persons in danger at the foot of cliffs or in the water.

This followed information of four children’s and one adult wetsuits found on the coast path near Whitesands Beach.

The lifeboat carried out a search from Whitesands to St David’s Head and back.

A local coastguard team carried out a land search, and also made making enquires with people in the vicinity.

With nothing found and nobody reported missing it was decided that the wetsuits had probably been forgotten.

At this time all units were stood down with the lifeboat returning to station rehousing at 1.50pm.

The incident was treated as a false alarm with good intent.
