St Davids inshore lifeboat launched to assist inflatable dinghy

St Davids RNLI inshore lifeboat (ILB) was launched yesterday (2nd August) under the command of helmsman Mike Rogers at 2:10pm to the aid of a 12 foot inflatable dinghy.

The dinghy, with two persons on board, had suffered engine failure in a position approximately 300 yards from the RNLI Station. The incident was observed by the lifeboat mechanic who contacted the Coastguards and arranged for the ILB to be launched to assist them.

The casualty vessel was taken under tow back to Whitesands beach where it had originally come from. After making sure that they were safely ashore the ILB returned to station rehousing at 2:55pm.
