St David’s RNLI launches to injured child

On Friday August 5 at 11.39am the volunteer crew of St David’s RNLI inshore lifeboat launched to the passenger vessel Viking Voyager to aid a 10 year old girl on board who had suffered a back injury.

The vessel was approximately two miles south of Ramsey Island, and was making its way back towards the lifeboat station. Once the lifeboat came alongside the vessel, a lifeboat crew member boarded it and carried out a check on the girl.

After consulting the child’s parents it was decided to leave the girl on board the vessel. The lifeboat escorted the passenger boat back to the lifeboat station, where the child was handed into the care of waiting paramedics and a local coastguard team.
