At the recent St Davids RNLI annual crew dinner, Roy Thomas MBE was presented with a certificate for his service to the lifeboat station at St Davids.
Roy first served as a shore helper and lifeboat crew member from 1957 to 1970. He then served as a Deputy Launching Authority between 1994 until January 2010, making a total of 29 years service. He is still contributing to the work of St Davids RNLI today as the station’s Vice Chairman.
Pictured making the presentation of the service certificate to Roy is the station’s Lifeboat Operations Manager, Captain James Wilcox. Roy was also presented with photos of the lifeboats which were at the station during his service, they were framed and signed by the coxswain, crew and station officials. St Davids coxswain David John made this part of the presentation.
