Staff raise cash with a moustache

Staff at Llantrisant Leisure Centre got themselves into some ‘hairy’ situations to raise money for charity.

For they all grew moustaches and facial hair in aid of the Prostate Cancer Charity, in the “Movember” challenge – raising £170 from staff and customers at the leisure centre.

Movember is an annual month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during November to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues.

Leisure staff who took part in the challenge were area facility manager Keith Nicholls; recreation manager Gary Dalton, fitness manager James Russell and fitness instructors Jon Rees, Craig Forsyth, Geraint Flye and Sean Pitt, as well as Leisure attendants Stuart Williams, Matthew Evans and Mark Harris and STEPS co-ordinator Kevin Russell.

Keith Nicholls said: “It is great that staff readily supported this charity. I was more than happy to become involved as a family member has recently completed treatment for prostate cancer.”

Movember was launched in 1999 by a group of Australian men and men around the world now take part annually.
