Staff use team building day to enhance Denbighshire’s environment

Action for Children and Denbighshire Countryside Service are joining forces to arrange a team building exercise for staff who work at a local children’s home.

The home on the outskirts of Rhyl is run by Action for Children and provides accommodation for vulnerable children and young people aged between 12 and 16 years.

The team building event will be staged at Loggerheads Country Park on June 29 and the residential staff will help countryside staff to clear Himalayan Balsam weeds from the streams, some further weeding in a wild flower meadow and work on the lower slopes of Moel Famau.

Anne Roberts, the home’s Service Manager, said: “This is a great opportunity for our team to do something different together and to give something back to the community and to the environment. We look forward to getting our hands dirty, learning skills and having plenty of fun at the same time.”

David Shiel of Denbighshire Countryside Service, said: “We are dependent on the support of volunteers to carry out a lot of our environmental work and we are delighted that the staff from Action for Children are keen to help us in our work.

“ It will certainly be a lot of hard work, but rewarding as it helps enhance our beautiful environment and it will certainly make them work as a team.”
