The annual Newport Animal Centre Mutt Strutt will take place on Sunday 7 September at Sirhowy Valley Country Park near Newport.
The three mile comfortable walk is suitable for all, and will offer a chance for dogs to socialise in the picturesque country park.
Registration will begin at 10.30am and will close at 12.30pm. The circular walk starts from the main car park.
Animal centre manager Debbie Caffull said they will be bringing along a four-legged friend or two from the centre to take part in the fun event.
“Money raised at the event will go towards buying toys and items for the dogs at the centre, as we are always in need of them,” she said.
“Sponsor forms can be collected from the centre or you can email us for one. The person who raises the most money will receive a special prize.”
The Mutt Strutt costs £2.50 per dog. There will be refreshments and a raffle along with a children’s activity of ‘find the lost doggies’ where youngsters will be challenged to find cut out pictures of dogs along the route.
Animal lovers who are not dog owners are also very welcome to take part in the walk and help financially support the animal centre.
